Find your coverage first

Your protection products are in your portal, with their terms and documents. Check before doing anything else:
  • What is actually covered
  • Your deductible
  • Any limits, such as a maximum number of claims per year
  • Who administers the plan β€” often a third party, not your dealer
Read the terms before calling. Knowing whether your issue is covered, and what your deductible is, makes for a much shorter conversation.

Making the claim

1

Check it is covered

Wear and tear is usually excluded, and that is the most common reason a claim is declined.
2

Contact the administrator

Their details are in your plan documents in your portal.
3

Give them your policy details

Your plan number, the vehicle, and what has happened.
4

Get authorization before any work starts

Do not have repairs done and then claim. Most plans require prior authorization, and unauthorised work is usually not reimbursed.
5

Use an approved repairer

Many plans require it. Check before booking.
6

Pay your deductible

Where one applies, you pay it and the plan covers the rest.

Tracking it

You can follow your claim’s progress in your portal, and the administrator will keep you updated.

Transferring coverage when you sell

Many plans are transferable, which is a genuine selling point on a used vehicle. Check your plan documents for whether yours transfers and what the process is. There is sometimes a fee or a time limit after the sale.
