Depending on your state, your vehicle, and how you are paying, you may need to provide some documents.

What is required

Your portal lists exactly what you need, so you are not guessing from a general list. Requirements vary by state. Common ones include proof of identity, proof of address, proof of insurance, and financing stipulations such as proof of income.

Uploading

Take a photo or upload a file for each item. Your portal tracks what is done and what is outstanding.

Getting an upload accepted first time

Most rejections are avoidable:
All four corners in frame, nothing cropped, no glare. Photograph on a plain surface in good light.
Both sides where relevant, and every page of a multi-page document.
An expired licence or a lapsed insurance card will be rejected.
The name on each document should match the name on your order.
Compression makes text unreadable. Use the original file or photograph the original document.

If something is rejected

You are told what was wrong so you can fix that specific thing. Upload a corrected version; there is no penalty for a second attempt.

Do it promptly

Your order does not progress while documents are outstanding. If you are financing, missing stipulations are the single most common reason an order stalls, so deal with them as soon as they appear.

Tracking progress

Your portal shows each requirement and its status, so you always know what is left.
