Specific products
A fixed set of units. The promotion applies to exactly those and nothing else. Right for a known SKU list, such as end-of-year clearance on one trim.1

Smart rules
A rule describing which vehicles qualify. The promotion automatically covers any current or future inventory that matches. Right for a category-based offer such as βall 2024 or 2025 cruisersβ. A rule is a tree of conditions joined by AND or OR. Each condition picks a field, an operator, and one or more values, and the promotion applies wherever the whole rule is true. Fields include make, model, year, and other vehicle and order attributes. This is why you do not have to revisit promotions as stock changes. A rule written today automatically covers a qualifying unit you take in next month, because eligibility is evaluated when the buyer looks rather than when you saved the promotion.
Choosing between them
The tab that opens by default reflects how the promotion is stored: a simple product list opens on Specific Products, anything else opens on Smart Rules.
